The attached PowerPoint will show you several examples of tiered resource lists and lead you through using Lexile.com
to create one of your own.
A tiered reading list can be a resource for a teacher who wants to record the supplemental
materials that were used for a given unit. It can be used for students to manage their own research sources, to create summer
reading lists for individual students, or whenever multiple texts are desired.
To create the list, the "Lexile
Book Database" will be helpful. To access the Book Database, go to Lexile.com, click on the "Educator" tab,
then "Book Search" from the top menu bar. You can search for resources here by keyword, by Lexile, by author, or
by subject.
