One way we can
learn about students is through the comparison of their MAP scores with the scores of their grade level peers and the norm
group means.
Choose one student with whom you work and compare their subject level MAP scores with the district
mean, then find the norm means for the subject and grade level and compare your student of interest with this score. While
reviewing these scores, ask yourself "what do I now know about this student in relation to their peer group?"
The national norm means can be found at the NWEA Document Library site. The local district means are given on District
Summary Reports or on Individual Reports.
